In this heartfelt creation, I, the artist, draw inspiration from the captivating essence of South Korean singer and actress Kim Jisoo (김지수). Aptly named "A-Yeong," meaning refined grace, this painting pays homage to Jisoo's enchanting qualities—her flawless complexion, cascading silky hair, and captivating facial features that leave a lasting impression.
What sparked the genesis of this piece was Jisoo's ethereal appearance at Dior's Spring 2023 Haute Couture show. Channeling the spirit of the iconic Audrey Hepburn, she exuded an aura of sophistication and elegance that left an indelible mark on my artistic sensibilities.
As the great Audrey Hepburn once said, "Remember, if you ever need a helping hand, it’s at the end of your arm. As you get older, remember you have another hand: The first is to help yourself, the second is to help others." These words resonated with me throughout the creation of "A-Yeong," imbuing the painting with a sense of compassion and humility.
This composition embraces a mixed media approach, combining elements to achieve a harmonious whole.
