In this painting, I sought to capture a poignant moment inspired by a scene from episode 5 of "It's Okay to Not Be Okay," titled "Rapunzel and the Cursed Castle."

The artwork portrays Moon-Young, as she stands on her balcony, reminiscent of a princess dwelling in her enigmatic and forbidden castle. A scene filled with subtlety, Moon-Young's countenance evokes a mixture of regality and aloofness, accompanied by an intense aura that is challenging to put into words.

The painting harks back to a encounter between Moon-Young and Sang-Tae, where she offers him the chance to live with her and presents an illustration contract. Meanwhile, his brother, Gang-tae, becomes concerned about Sang-Tae's whereabouts and contacts Moon-Young, who reveals that they are together in the "cursed castle." This encounter triggers Moon-Young's recollection of a little girl's life confined within the confines of a cursed castle, forbidden to experience the outside world. Her fervent prayers for a rescuing prince linger in the moonlit air.

In a tender flashback, a young Moon-Young eagerly awaits a visit from a youthful Gang-tae, bearing flowers as an endearing gesture. However, her happiness is met with opposition, symbolized by a dark figure, possibly her mother, who stands as an obstacle between the two young souls. Moon-Young, caught in conflicting emotions, accepts the flowers but crushes them underfoot, directing Gang-tae to leave.

The artwork captures the moment when Moon-Young gazes over her balcony as Gang-tae approaches, evoking a whirlwind of emotions. Her enigmatic expression encapsulates a compelling intensity, making it almost palpable to the observer.

In this piece, I humbly attempted to depict the raw emotions and depth of the characters' connections, as they grapple with their past and present. The painting stands as a humble homage to the intricate storytelling and fairytale moments of "It's Okay to Not Be Okay," bringing to life the essence of Moon-Young's enigmatic persona and her metaphorical "cursed castle" existence.
